PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
This rolling pin comes with 3 sets of molded plastic rings to ensure that your dough is rolled the exact thickness every time. Your recipe says to roll the dough 1/4 of an inch thick. How do you know what that is? No more guesswork! Just choose the 1/4" rings and your dough will be perfect. The three rings sizes let you choose between 1/16" (2mm) , 1/4" (6mm), and 3/8" (10mm) thick, or you can remove the rings and you have a traditional rolling pin. Barrel is 13 3/4" long and approximately 1 3/4" in diameter.
Attention to those looking for the Smart Rolling Pin:
There are many who have been on the waiting list for the Smart Rolling Pin. We loved the Smart Rolling Pin, but were having problems with the wooden rings breaking in transit. After speaking with our supplier, we discovered that it wasn't just us, and there were definitely some recurring problems with the product. We have spent the last couple of months trying out different solutions and searching for a better adjustable rolling pin, and we found one!! This adjustable pin by Joseph and Joseph is just what we were looking for. It is sturdy, reliable, and as a big bonus-- less expensive for you than the Smart Pin (and just as "smart", we might add!) We have been very pleased with the results we have got from this rolling pin, and are confident that you will love it!
A note to Rolled Fondant and Gumpaste users: If you are looking for a rolling pin for rolling rolled fondant or gumpaste, this might be the pin for you-- the 1/16" rings are great for both; HOWEVER--- there is one little problem we want you to know about. The "Joseph" logo on the rolling pin is indented, which can create imprints on your fondant. This is not a problem if you are using impression mats or rollers, or go over it with a fondant smoother after you roll it out. Those things take care of the problem easily. If you are rolling and leaving as-is, you might see the word "Joseph" appearing where you don't want it. Please note that this is not a problem at all for any kind of dough that we tested (cookie dough, pie dough, etc.)
