 What is cuter than these magic wand party favors?? I remember one year when money was tight, and I was worried about throwing a memorable birthday party for my daughter, who had just been to the mother of all birthday parties a couple of weeks prior. I decided to make up some decorated cookies as party favors, and it was the talk of the neighborhood! I didn't even have to spill the beans that it was CHEAP and super-duper EASY.

To make the pink magic wand, bake large star cookies on 11" cookie sticks. Glaze cookies pink, using deep pink food coloring to color your glaze. Wait for your glaze to dry, then pipe a border of pink all around the perimeter of the cookie. Immediatley sprinkle with pink non pareils and then tap off the excess. Add a name to the center (or not!). Let your cookies dry and then wrap in medium cellophane bags. Tie with some sparkly and/or colorful ribbons, and you have a magic wand that your princesses will LOVE. For variation, glaze stars a variety of colors and use matching non pareils.

For The gold and silver wands, glaze stars white; allow to dry. Pipe a border around the outside edge and sprinkle with Gold or Silver Sheen sugar crystals. Go back and add some white swirls (using full-strength frosting, not glaze) to the stars. I wish the pictures could do these justice... they are SO cute in real life! Give them a try!
