Our goal is to make an expert cookie decorator out of anyone who has a desire to learn. Our tutorials will walk you through the process step by step, from recipes and baking through the decorating process, to packaging and presentation. All of the supplies sold on this site are Karen's personal favorites which she has been using for years, and are staples in her kitchen. If we don't love it, we won't sell it.

We have developed unique Cookie Kits to help make cookie decorating easier. Each Kit contains everything* you need to decorate like a professional. Included in each kit are easy to follow step-by-step instructions that you can collect to create your own customized cookie decorating book!


Karen's Cookies was actually born way back in 2001. Karen had received so many requests to teach cookie decorating that she and her husband, Mike, put together an instructional website dedicated to cookie decorating (see the old web site here). Recently we decided to update the web site by giving it a face-lift and adding our Cookie Kits and other fine products. The design has changed but the spirit of the site remains. Our number one goal is to be the most comprehensive cookie decorating resource available to anyone.


Karen is a Culinary Arts graduate who worked for several years as a professional cake and cookie decorator. After some quick calculations, she figures that she has decorated more than 100 wedding cakes, more than 1000 birthday cakes, and easily over 10,000 cookies. If there is one thing Karen knows well, it's cookies and the tools it takes to make them great!

Mike is the technical wizard behind KarensCookies.net. He has been designing and programming web sites since 1997, working for a variety of businesses including Fortune 500 technology companies. He currently works as a freelance Web Developer and designs educational software in his free time. Although he is the brains behind the operation, he also regularly contributes to the creativity of the cookie designs and has come up with some of the best cookies Karen has ever seen. (She would never go up against Mike in a cookie decorating contest... but don't tell him that!)


We have a number of people asking where we are physically located. For those who are curious we are located in southeast Idaho, near Idaho Falls.
